Kashmir Dream, Treasures from the Silk Road, is an oasis of understanding and interchange and the beauty of what is exchanged is both internal and external. Come and share a moment, a story or an insight while perusing colorful treasures, lovingly collected by Sheikha Maryam Kabeer Faye, author and world traveler. Just as travelers have, for generations, assembled in oases on the Silk Road to exchange not only goods, but teaching, knowledge, and wisdom, so do we meet and share the bounties that He bestows upon us.
Under One Sun
Under One Sun is located in the heart of York City, PA, in the historic Central Market House. Created in 2006 by Jolene Kohr, the concept originates from the idea that in this world, we all wake up under the same sun. Breathing the same air makes us potentially all the same.
Started as a fair trade arts & jewelry booth, Jolene noticed the desire for healthy food options. Already having a culinary background, she began studying nutrition & the value of sustainability. Under One Sun has become a unique casual dining experience offering an array of fresh, local & organic foods. In a steady progression, the business has blossomed into what is now known as the best food in town.
In 2011 David Indrisek, known as Inder, came on board as Jolene’s business partner, bringing genius, creativity & unsurpassed culinary skill to the table. The connection is obvious. The restaurant is open for breakfast & lunch five days a week. The expansion into catering & special events keeps them busy year-round. The pair hopes to open a full-service restaurant, to include an eccentric business idea in the near future. Whatever your taste buds favor, Under One Sun is sure to nourish your body, mind & spirit, with an experience you will not soon forget.
